First impressions count! Because of how quick we all process visual information, the way you present yourself will influence not only your relationships with others but also the one you have with yourself.  Although it is very possible for someone to sincerely not care what other people think, that is the exception and not the rule.

Your style is a representation of your personality and what you choose to wear each day can either reflect your mood or affect your mood.  It may only be a theory, and anxiety may not be caused by what you wear, the way you dress does speak to your level of confidence and self-esteem is directly connected to anxiety.

Some of us dress thoughtlessly, some of us overdress to hide things were self-conscious with, and some of us live by the moto that beauty is pain and wear things that aren't too comfortable, pair that with everyday life stressors and you could just be piling on extra anxiety weight with something as simple as the way you dress.

Are there certain people in your life who always seem to dress so effortlessly, and sail through life unbothered?  We want to help you get on their level.  With emotional cancer season upon us and this gloomy early summer whether it's easy to let anxiety and stress take control of you.  We suggest instead of letting your energy pick out your outfit you pick out an outfit with the right energy.

Figure Out What Makes YOU Feel and Look Good

Stop blindly purchasing whatever product of the week IG influencers are promoting and don't be afraid to step into a store to try on a bunch of things.  Trends are fun but shopping for wardrobe staples that you can build off is a must.  Having a nice blouse or pair of slacks to wear for a meeting or interview will give you a newfound confidence.  Even something as small as finding your go to color will help you feel good about making decisions and asserting yourself.

Plan Your Looks

Doing anything last minute or feeling rushed is always going to bring you stress.  If you notice yourself becoming overwhelmed with work or the empath in you is starting to show, try planning out your looks for the week.  Feeling well put together can also ease your mind and gives others and yourself the opportunity to compliment you and brighten up your spirit

Flex But Don't Hurt Yourself

Don’t hide the things that make you-you.  You don't have to let go of your signature hairstyle or your lucky combat boots to come off as polished.  Keeping what's unique about you will make you feel comfortable and if you are comfortable you will spend less time fidgeting in clothes you hate and more time looking good.

The way you dress in no way defines who you are, but it accentuates it.  If your choice in clothing leads to anxiety or your find yourself stressing over what to wear it's time to rethink your fashion choices. When things are getting heavy and decisions getting harder remember to keep it true, keep it fun and plan it out.
