Vintage, Streetwear, and Japanese Items (Under $100)

The holiday season is over, but there's always a reason to shop and hunt for the your next find. Luckily, we have compiled an amazing selection of fashion do’s in a one-stop shop at 2nd Street. Take a look below at the amazing selection of vintage, streetwear, and Japanese brands - all under $100. All these items can be found at our Melrose location so get ‘em before they’re all snatched up. Sit back relax and let the virtual shopping spree begin!

We love obscure toy collectables. Originally from Japan, these figures now come from a list of international designers, and while the structure of the bear more or less stays the same, you can catch many different designs ranging from minimalist or austere, to eccentric and pop glamour. Whether you find them cute or slightly terrifying, these could be a great gift for someone who's really into anime. Either way these little cuties come in at around $29.

In our number two slot we have this casual striped shirt by Stüssy, this classic German brand cut button down comes with a nuanced modern zipper twist. Move over buttons - zippers are the new “it” girl. But for real, this shirt is a true catch - great for any gender or genderless person. A good ole’ workin’ man tee with a lot to offer. Honestly, this is the type of gift a girl would by their boyfriend only for them to not appreciate it until he wears it out the fifth time and gets a million compliments (definitely not speaking from experience or anything). A steal at $39!

Call it cultural appropriation if you must, but let’s be real, this vintage Chinese silk puffer vest is a MUST. Puffer attire is pushing its way back into the fashion spotlight from jackets and pants to even bikinis. A trend that has showed its longevity and importance throughout the 70’s and 80’s, but ever present in the 2000’s. This vest is not only a cool and unique print only found at the vintage store, but there’s also another hidden gem about this piece — it is reversible! For those who like to keep it low-key but appreciate a subtle flair of style, feel free to flip it to the fleece side and let only the holiday hotties see red silk on your vest and in your heart. This vest is a vintage bargain keeping it real for $20.

This sheer Helmut Lang shirt steals the fourth spot. I walked by and immediately thought this shirt is the embodiment of Pretty and Pink if it was made in the 90’s, and by that I mean ahead of it’s time. This shirt sticks to Helmut Lang’s elegant and classic cuts, but modernizes the design subtly with a sheer fabric. I’m torn between wanting to wear this to a Heathers themed party or a pastel tea party, not that I’ve been invited to either such events. Living in California, I’m extremely envious of whomever purchases this piece because of it’s ability to transition easily from daywear to nightwear as well as being appropriate for our moderate sunny Southern California weather. Anyways I digress enough with my love affair with this shirt. Even it’s price is a cool-guy number, this little lady could be yours for $69.

Cut and and restitch is IN people — get with it. While I’m not sure if Adidas originally made this piece, or if some fabulous unknown designer came in and cut this sh*t up, it doesn’t matter.  Either way, a design that could’ve been made in the hip hop 90’s era or recently in 2017, when this sort of abstract cuts came back in style with a vengeance, we know we have seen every celebrity from Kylie Jenner to SZA wearing this denim cut work. Additionally, this number is a skort — so get ready to bend and snap ladies we’ve literally got you covered. While a little pricey for a DIY skirt, I think you’ll find the benefits outweigh the consequences, $49 is a godsend.

I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing better than to see a man strut around in flowing campri sarouel pant — it just screams confidence — but without the toxic masculinity. Got a holiday shoot planned? These Issey Miyake pants exude dynamic movements sure to blow your audience away. Want to keep it casual and run errands while experiencing the max amount of comfort? This cozy pant will keep you in style while allowing you to carry out your daily tasks at ease. And in keeping with the theme of modest pricing, this ensemble could be yours for the mere cost of $99.

Blue Velvet who??? This track suit is so fly, so pimp, and so flossy, it was made for all the statement piece shoppers, and, yes, I’m talking about you. The mix of brown crushed velvet and zebra velour is the perfect combo for going out on the town on a chilly winter evening. Would it be too much to ask Snoop to don this velvet dog suit? I think not. In my option, this suit is so under priced it is basically stealing (thank you 2nd Street for your generous pricing.) Also great for all you deal-seekers. The best part about this set is all of the potential combinations of outfits that you can create out of this jumpsuit. Throw on this zip-up jacket over a fresh tee and pair it with your favorite denim, or rock the track pant with a simple crop top or white tee. Any way you spin it, this suit is the gift that keeps on giving. So throw your dog a bone and grab this suit as a set or individually, even though I hope the pieces are bought together! The pants will start off at $89, and the jacket will run at $99.

We STAND for a great platform (pun intended). For all you dainty footed women out there who are lucky enough to be the universal size seven foot, we highly encourage you to take advantage of this find. They are the perfect party shoe. Wear them out to your favorite bar or club and you know every woman in there is going to bombard you with complements and questions of where you acquired such a cute and practical shoe. These shoes will let you dance the night away to your heart’s content, without ever having to stop and rest your feet. Most importantly though, they have the perfect temperature balance: a partially exposed foot protected by a blanket of faux fur, not to mention these shoes are basically unworn. So to all my foxy mamas, fall in line to get these shoes for a shocking $23!

This MCM card carrier is a boss move if there ever was one. Let the people know you’re too classy for a wallet. Or let the people know you are too smart and sophisticated to take out your wallet. The beauty of this product is that you can use a card to purchase it and then immediately put your cards into it! Anyway this bad boy will cost you $89.

Is it acceptable to wear a baseball hat even in the absence of the sun — say at night or on a cloudy day? Of course it is, because FASHION! You definitely won’t need to protect yourself from the sun, but you do need to protect yourself from basic accessories. You can find a wide array of hats at any of our 2nd Street locations. Whether you want a baseball cap, bucket hat, caddy hat, or anything in between, we’ve got you covered. They are the perfect gift for really anyone. We offers so many different brands from across the decade, and keep plenty of inventory so that everyone can find something. Caps aren’t just for bad hair days. They’re a unique way to advertise your interests in life, and, as they say, great conversation starters. So don’t hold back and cop yourself or someone else (since it is the holidays) a cool lid. Prices vary between hats.

Well, there you have it folks — a full guide from our retail store on Melrose. Now if any of these items are gone by the time you make it around to the store, just know that it’s because you lagged. But don’t fret! We here at 2nd Street take the upmost care to keep providing the best vintage and resale of clothes in the Los Angeles area. So I’m sure you will be able to find something poppin’, and if not ask one of our wonderful associates. They can definitely point you to some of the best items in the store. Happy 2020 — but most of all be fashionable!
