Bags for Fall

Bags for Fall

As the summer comes to a close, that doesn’t mean that our outdoor adventures need to end. Here at 2nd Street, we believe in finding your perfect “Dora the Explorer” backpack, a bag that can hold all your essentials for a good time in nature or on the go. Let’s take a look at some of the selections from our Melrose location.
Our first travel side bag is by the Japanese brand Porter. This slick, ergonomic side bag is perfect for hiking or a day trip to the park. Stash your joints in the convenient inner pockets, and have them ready for your late afternoon walk. All the plants will be singing your praise as you walk along high as a kite and cute as a bird with your little red bag. And did we mention the material? It’s perfect for the outdoors, can easily be washed, and stain resistant. All of this can be yours for thirty-nine dollars.
Next, we have this rugged vintage leather bag. This bag is built to last! It’s ready to be taken on a desert weekend getaway in Joshua Tree. Don’t be afraid to drop this bag in the dust while you traverse the giant rocks that occupy the park — it’ll be fine. A bag of this caliber will dust right off and be ready to “Yeehaw!” into the sunset. And let us not forget to mention that vegans everywhere will appreciate up-cycling leather. This bag can be yours for the low, low price of nineteen dollars.
This bag reminds me of something that could be in the movie Spy Kids. It has so many uses and can change into so many options it’s crazy. No surprise that it’s from Brookstone. What may appear to be a normal shoulder bag is actually a bag of endless possibilities. As seen above, it be carried in the conventional way with the handle at the top; you can extend the the strap and place your arm through; OR you can unzip the whole bag stick your head through the top whole and wear the bag as a handy smock with multiple pockets and zippers — talk about dual use — a bag, a top, or both! You’ll be able to travel far and wide with this accessory, and you’ll never be short a top. This bag is priced at just thirty nine dollars.
Speaking of early late 90’s early 2000’s movies, this bag should look familiar to you if you grew up in that area. My parents were young and cool back then, so I strongly remember seeing this bag slumped around the house in between my parents’ meetings and internet cafe dates. Oakley held a strong presence in the post-“Matrix” area with these tech-y computer bags that were all the rage, and as the tech area continues to expand maybe we need to bring these back. So if you have now moved your work space to the local coffee shop maybe you’ll want to bring back this blast from the past with you. Take the red pill and buy this bag for twenty nine dollars.
Here we have another colorful bag by Porter. This bright orange bag will catch the attention of any vehicle as you bike through the city exploring what it would be like to be a bike messenger. The perfect travel bag for someone on the go or looking for more versatility. The clear card holder on the front makes it perfect for our cosmopolitan readers who are just too busy to remove their metro cards from their pockets and need to be able to scan on the go. Additionally, this bag can turn into a pillow as needed in case you needed to take a quick nap in the grass after biking around all day. This stylish accessory runs at one hundred and ninety nine dollars.
This was one of my personal favorites. I tend to be a light packer, and I prefer to just have a backpack or side bag for convenience. Doesn’t this big, olive pack make you want to curl up next to an outdoor fire? This bag is perfect for a single night camping trip — just stuff a few pairs of clothes in there and you’re set. The bag is so soft and warm it makes a great pillow if you’re without one. This bundle of joy also has a owner fill out on the inside seam that allows you to add your address, phone number, and a variation of moods from happy to paranoid. So snuggle up to this bag by Ziq & Yoni for sixty nine dollars.

We’ll be back with another lineup of bags for your closing summer plans, but until then stay safe and stay busy!
