First Date Shoes

Since Valentine’s Day was in February, it may have triggered a new anxiety or brought something to your attention you maybe weren’t aware of. Quarantine has slowed things down and one of the activities its impacted the most is dating, and the act gathering with others. Maybe Valentines Day was the first date you have gone on since the start of 2021. Maybe it was the first date you have gone on since quarantine began, and quite possibly found yourself a bit rusty after being out of the dating pool for so long. One thing you may have let slide in these times is your sense of fashion.

Let's face it, most of us have been working from home or adjusting to not working at all and walking around in the same two pairs of sweat pants and stained shirts. Maybe there was no need to buy new clothes, as things were closed down, and who were you going to see anyways? If the time has come for you to go on a date, step up your wardrobe, or you just want to look fly we’re here for you! Let’s take a look at some masculine presenting shoes you can consider for your upcoming dates whether you stay in or go out.
Alright, let’s start off with these Common Projects Chelsea Boots. They are truly a great find which will virtually go with everything besides shorts. The grey suede is in almost perfect condition, so don’t worry, you’ll still seem sophisticated on that date even in a second hand wear. Additionally, the stone grey color is subtle and mature on its own. These bold shoes say: ‘hey I’m a person that can match my shoes to an accessory’. First impression thoughts on these boots say… I read books, which is always a sexy look. Get them here at our Costa Mesa store for $169 dollars.
These Dolce and Gabbana loafers are so funky and fresh! You’ll be bringing some personality to your first date because these shoes scream, “I’m not afraid to take a risk.” First date impressions of this shoe is: a confident person who likes to take the road less traveled with fashion, and let me tell you it’s working. These loafers are the embodiment of Suede by NxWorries, smooth and buttery just like Anderson Paak’s voice. It also helps that I could totally see Andy rocking these shoes. So show of your confidence and pizzaz with these shoes, and show that first date your here for a good time!
Up next we have some bad boy biker boots, and who could resist these? These perfectly worn in boots probably got that way by scuffling in a few bar fights, or so we like to imagine. Show up wearing these and your date will be ready to hop on the back of your bike and ride away into the sunset- well hopefully… that all depends on you ; ) These boots would feel right at home on a date at local Los Angeles watering hole, The Cave or Footies, or really anywhere on Figueroa where bikers meet hipsters. So get your boots, wet your whistle, and get into your favorite solo venture story with your date and charm away.
These next shoes are a little more casual and reserved. They say a lot while saying very little, if you get my vibe. They stand out because they are nice and casual, but not so casual they are forgettable. These would be great shoes for a first date picnic. They are formal enough for a first date but comfortable enough to take a walk around Echo Park Lake.
These Balenciagas have a lot to say even if they may look standard. They are perfect for that second date, where you run around doing inconsequential errands and ventures to the farmers market. While they are Balenciaga and imply a high fashion bougie type of person they are slightly worn making them exceptional errand shoes. You know the shoes you don’t mind getting dirty and walking around in, but shoes you also want to look good in while you strut around town.
These shoes remind me of the character Duckie from the film Pretty in Pink. That guy had his own unique style and wasn’t afraid of what other people though of it. I would expect the person wearing these to embody that energy. First date impressions of this shoe: this person is not afraid to out-style you on the first date and that’s ok. They are sure of who they are and ready to find their perfect match exactly like Duckie’s character development in the movie. So don’t be afraid of your own personal style and embrace it. Maybe you’ll find a match with their own strong personal style.

So next time you're about to head out on a first date drop by 2nd Street, because we got what ya need for those first date nerves. Thanks for dropping in.
